Vegas or Bust!
Recently, I had the privilege of qualifying for the Vegas Tuffest Jr World. I was one of three North Dakota qualifiers. The rodeo was held at the Red River Arena complex, where I competed in barrel racing and breakaway. It was pretty cool to know that dirt and the barrel pattern was the same as the NFR at the Thomas and Mack.
I made two respectable barrel runs, I’m not sure where I fell for standing, as they weren’t up before we left. In the breakaway 15 and under, I ended up 30th. There were a lot of nice horses and talented competitors.
The rodeo took the top 15 to the short go. The roping was insane. The girl that won the 19 and under roped her calf in 1.88 seconds. It was humbling to watch.
We had an amazing experience and I would love to go back again. But, for now I will be back in the barn practicing and getting ready for spring rodeo.
